Proteins
Remember that too much protein on a ketogenic diet is not a good thing. Choose from the following:
Fish. Fatty Fish is best. Salmon, Tuna, Trout, Snapper, Catfish, Cod, Flounder, Halibut, Mackerel, and Mahi-Mahi
Shellfish. Shrimp (not too much), Crab, Squid, Lobster, Clams, Oysters, Scallops, and Mussels.
Whole Eggs. Prepared however you like.
Beef. All beef and all meats. Fatty Meats are best
Pork. All Pork. Specifically with No Sugar Added
Poultry. All Poultry.
Bacon and Sausage. Be careful and make sure no sugar is added.
Nut Butter. Natural and not sweetened
Vegetables and Fruits
Eggplants, Peppers (all) and Tomatoes.
Root Vegetables. Onions, Mushrooms, Turnips, etc.
Berries. All berries
Citrus. All fresh lemons or limes. Limit Oranges.
Avoid all starchy fruit and vegetables.
